“Michelle sings Joni” takes on the challenging and subtly nuanced works from every phase of Joni Mitchell’s career. With great passion and musical intuition, they tackle these multi-layered songs whilst adding their own distinctive touch. A central goal of "Michelle sings Joni" is to bring back the feeling and emotions people felt when they first heard the music of Joni Mitchell.
At the centre is Michelle Kuban, whose expressive voice lends the pieces a powerful depth. She accompanies her vocals on guitar and piano, guiding the audience through the poetic compositions. At her side, Sven Rossenbach brings a warm, jazzy tone to the mix with saxophone and piano. The rhythmic foundation is provided by Adrian Maruszczyk on bass and Lukas Kuban on drums and percussion. Together they create a powerful base that allows the harmonies to breathe.
The result is a sound that respects the essence of the originals yet feels vibrant and unique.
